Button-Tufted Wingback Headboard Crushed Velvet

Crushed velvet and deep button tufting together create a bedroom headboard that does the decorating for you — this Button-Tufted Wingback Headboard Crushed Velvet design brings instant warmth, texture, and personality to any bed setup.

The difference between regular velvet and crushed velvet becomes immediately clear in a piece like this. Crushed velvet has a characteristic irregular sheen — the pile is pressed in different directions during manufacture, producing a surface that catches and reflects light unpredictably across the panel. Against a diamond button-tufted grid, that shimmering quality is amplified: each tufted section sits at a slightly different angle, creating a constantly shifting, multi-tonal effect that changes as you move around the room. The extended wingback panels run the full height of the headboard, adding width and presence, while the small dark wooden feet at the base ground the piece and give it a more substantial, furniture-quality finish. The smooth lower panel beneath the tufting provides a visual rest point — keeping the overall design balanced rather than busy.

Key Features

• Crushed velvet upholstery throughout → Irregular pile direction creates a distinctive shimmering, multi-tonal surface that shifts with light — more visually dynamic than standard velvet or flat fabric
• Deep diamond button tufting on upper panel → Tightly pulled buttons across a full grid of diamond sections; crushed velvet amplifies the textural depth of each tufted pocket
• Extended full-height wingback side panels → Wide wings frame the head of the bed on both sides, adding horizontal presence and making the headboard feel more like a considered furniture piece than an add-on
• Straight flat-top silhouette → Clean horizontal roofline keeps the design versatile — works in rooms with lower ceilings where an arched top would feel too tall
• Small dark wooden feet at base → Solid footing that lifts the headboard slightly off the floor, lending a more finished, furniture-quality appearance
• Smooth lower base panel → Untufted lower section balances the detailed upper half and keeps the overall composition clean and uncluttered
